G Ch Cassbar's Monaco

We had this little one pup litter, by our Blue Boy "Kane" BPIG Ch. Anamchara Prototype, and her dam was a fav that i had tried to aquire more than once, "Grace" Ch. Dynestar High Society.   So our baby was born C Section, and who would have thought this one pup would have such an amazing show career!

Being a "Star" even in the whelping box, well she thought she was anyways! :)

We went out the first weekend, as a baby puppy and won her baby puppy class at the Specialty in SK!

Her first real weekend she was 6 months and a few days old, and came home half finished her Championship!

We wanted her to have some fun (and training) so we sent her out to Trina Neil and Connie Krohn, our handlers and good friends.

Suri finished in the first weekend she was with them, and got herself a couple Puppy Group to start out!

Suri has far surpassed any of our dogs, as a lovely show girl, outstanding mover, and what a personality!  She has won a Best in Sweeps in Specialty in the CSSA Regional, and all breed Best in Sweeps, 19 best puppy in Groups, and SIX Best Puppy in Shows!  She also has been placing in the adult group beating some very mature and top dogs in Canada!  We are very pleased!

 Here is our lovely Litter Sired by "PJ" Miqelon Blurred Lines (Mojave x Fendi), PJ is a stunning Bi blue boy that i saw at a Specialty back in May.  So glad to be the first to have his puppies.   Dame is "Alexis" our tri girl Ch. Cynchar's Rock the Cassbar (4 am pts)

Summer time!

Hope everyone is enjoying the great summer weather... Finally!   Hope your Mosquito's aren't too bad.  :)
We have had an amazing spring.  Very very busy, going to the American Nationals and then off to the Canadian Nationals 3 weeks later, with a quick stop in Saskatoon in between at the Sheltie Specialty there.

We lost a very special friend, its been hard to talk about, but probably time, he was Rod Oishi a very close friend, and we lost him May 17, 2014 at the age of 51.  RIP my friend.

I tried to keep busy, knowing that Rod was loosing his battle, we stayed up most nights talking, but the chats got shorter and shorter, he was so weak.   I miss him SO much!

On the brighter side, i Finished his girl we co owned, she also went Best In Sweeps at the Saskatoon Specialty under breeder/Judge Simone Rudolph (Glamoor's Shelties)

We went on a trek across Canada, and then into the United States, Pat Burroughs and i decided to go to BC to visit friends, then onto Albany Oregon, for a fun weekend of Sheltie Specialties only

We took off for the 3 day trek, and made it  in two! beautiful country!

We Ventured on to Albany, 2 van loads, 4 of us with many Shelties.  :)  We had a great time with some awesome friends.    The highlight on my weekend was "Dyna" our young bi black girl was RWB at the Specialty on Saturday under breeder/Judge Rick Thompson!

Our House Guest "Carlisle" Can Ch Elbee Just Push Play was BOW x 2 days in Albany, owned by Judy Decker!  Now sporting 9 Am. points with both majors!

We picked up our lovely boy "Rush" Who is now at 7 Am Points, and made the trek home.   We also had to stop at the Oishi's in Peachland BC  Rod's parents, to visit, and bring home a special gift that was whelped at his house after he had passed.   I had whelped her myself, a singleton when visited just after his passing, and "Morgan" had one tri girl that i couldnt wait to see if she had "made the cut" for the show ring.  I was delighted to see she was all that and more!

So "Eden"  Akirene's Heaven Sent, has joined us here at Cassbar.  She will be co owned with Jackie Thuener from Hawaii, and shown here in Canada and the US by us both.  Thank you so much Irene & Aki for this lovely baby, Rod will be smiling from above.   Her mother "Morgan" Kismet's Siren Song of Akirene has also come to spend some time on the prairie.  

Were home from ASSA National

Paula, Doreen and I made the trek down to Purina Farms for the American Shetland Sheepdog Assoc Nationals it was a great week, we have seen weather from snow storms, to torrential rains, to hot hot 29 C weather!  We had a blast with old and new friends, the dogs showed awesome, and looked amazing in the ring!

This is the Nature Reserve across from out Hotel, thousands of wild Daffodil's blooming.  Was so gorgeous, wish we'd had time to actually go for a walk in it!

We are now back to reality!  PUPPIES!! and lots of them!  They are so cute!

I have to Brag a bit, "Rage" AM GrandCh BISS Kensil's Nutrageous the sire of our "Lyric" babies was Award of Merit this year at ASSA!  for such a young dog! wow, that was an amazing day.  Lyric's brother won the open sable dog, and Rage's half sister Kensils Circus Souvenir won Runner up in Futurity and her 9-12 month puppy class!  It was an amazing week for the Kensil's family of dogs congrats to Sylvia & David Calderwood, and of course Tray Pitman & Paul Flores.

The Bean babies grew so much and changed so much while i was gone, it was amazing!  Their sire was also Award of Merit at the ASSA National, BISS/BIS Bronze Am/Can Ch. Laureate Cold Play has been AOM 3 years in a row!   Dam is "Bean" Ch. Cassbar's Dream a little Dream (Nemo x Alexis)

Bean's Babies!

Here are Bean's cute little babies, 9 days old.  "Bean" Is Ch. Cassbar's Dream a Little Dream and the Sire is "Player" BIS/BISS Am/Can Ch. Laureate Cold Play.  Bean is a awesome mom, and puppies are fat, growing so quickly.

Spring is hopefully coming!

We are still feeling a bit like stuck in a winter wonderland!  I so cant wait to be able to go for walks and have the dogs free on their 3 acre's fenced! right now its about a foot higher than our 6' fencing.  

You can just about see the top of the fencing, most area's its way above.   April 1st doesn't seem right!

Its been very busy over winter, and trying with keeping the dogs happy using out house mostly as their play area, it was just too cold to play outdoors most the times.   

We have some puppy news, will post more soon.  Here is a picture of our litter sired by "Rage" BISS GrAm Ch Kensil's Nutrageous bred to our girl "Lyric" Can Ch. Kensil's Lyrical World at Cassbar, she had SEVEN puppies and all are doing well, Lyric is such a great mom!
